As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Estimator who wants to be part of a company where their expertise is valued, their contributions make an impact, and their career can grow alongside the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to develop accurate material takeoffs for overhead doors, rolling doors, fire doors, dock equipment, and related hardware
- Prepare detailed, competitive cost estimates and bid proposals for new construction, retrofit, and service projects
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors, manufacturers, and subcontractors
- Coordinate with sales, operations management, and installation teams to ensure estimates align with project scope and timelines
- Conduct site visits and field measurements as needed to verify existing conditions
- Track bid opportunities, follow up on submitted proposals, and maintain a bid log/pipeline
- Identify value-engineering opportunities and alternative product solutions to improve competitiveness
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of overhead door products, code requirements (fire ratings, wind load, ADA, etc.), and industry pricing trends
- Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, architects, and property managers
- Prepare change order estimates for approved projects
- Maintain organized documentation of all estimates, quotes, and awarded contracts
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints/specifications
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel/Office or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Valid driver’s license for occasional site visits
- Willing to train the right individual in estimating if computer skills align
